Nine classics gathered with their owners to present the £1000 cheque to the Ability Dogs 4 Young people. At least 6 dogs, plus puppies with 6 trainers were there to receive it.

A local vehicle club has made a significant contribution to a vital charity on the Island. The Vectis Historic Vehicle Club (VHVC) has donated £1,000 to Ability Dogs 4 Young People, a charity that provides assistance dogs to disabled young people.

The donation was made following the VHVC’s annual open day, an event that regularly raises funds for various charities. The club chose to support Ability Dogs 4 Young People after learning about the charity’s work and the ongoing need for assistance dogs in the local community.

Ability Dogs 4 Young People is dedicated to training and providing assistance dogs to young people with disabilities. The charity covers all the costs associated with the dogs’ training, including vet bills, food, and equipment. With over 70 Ability Dogs and puppies currently in their program, the charity is making a significant impact on the lives of disabled young people on the Isle of Wight.

The VHVC’s donation will go directly towards supporting the charity’s training program and ensuring that more assistance dogs can be provided to those in need. This is not the first time the club has supported Ability Dogs 4 Young People. In the past, they have donated funds to help the charity acquire two dogs, Paddi and Jack, in memory of Jack and Paddi Eales.

The cheque presentation took place on August 21st at the Ability Dogs 4 Young People training center. Members of the VHVC, along with Ability Dogs and their puppy parents, gathered for the event. Classic cars were on display, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Carol Court, Founder and CEO of Ability Dogs 4 Young People, expressed her gratitude for the VHVC’s continued support. “I would like to personally thank VHVC for their generous donation,” she said. “Their support enables us to continue training Ability Dogs and providing them to disabled young people on the Island. We are incredibly fortunate to have the support of the VHVC and other local clubs.”
