A lost dog on the Isle of Wight proved he had more than just a nose for trouble when he flagged down a police car to help him find his way home.
Olaf the dog managed to escape his home and found himself lost and alone. In a stroke of luck, or perhaps canine ingenuity, he spotted an Island police car occupied by PC Carey and Sgt Sharland, who were on their way to Ventnor.
With a determined dash, Olaf intercepted the officers, effectively pressing pause on their journey.
PC Carey admitted to forming a special bond with the four-legged friend during their brief encounter.
Thankfully, the officers were able to reunite Olaf with his overjoyed owners.
